Forsythe is the second child of Orly and Pinoy Greentree of Whitelake in the Jagged Wasteland. His was a sad upbringing in a family who idolized their first child, his sister Brianne, and used Forsythe as more of a slave. Anything good he ever had he ended up losing to his sister, including gifts given him from those outside of his family. Growing tired of being nothing but an afterthought in his own home, he decided to leave at the tender age of 12 and he never looked back.
Forsythe soon discovered that when he took something on the street he was able to keep it for himself, at least for a while. He was found by a man named Misha who gave him a roof over his head, but part of the value of what he would 'find' or take had to be pooled together with the others who were living in the home. One day, Misha was caught with something belonging to the head of the city watch and whilst Forsythe never found out what happened to Misha, he knew it was time to find better stomping grounds. Forsythe made his way to Thriest at age 15 and soon found that the people there were so intent on knowledge that they missed the obvious, and with him around, they missed a lot of belongings as well.
With no direction and little formal learning beyond childhood, Forsythe's only desire was to make it to his next meal with a roof over his head. In Thriest he did at least have people he associated with, the closest being Kosha, but he never shared his true feelings with any including her.
One day Forsythe found himself caught up in an adventure with people he hardly knew, but grew to trust them implicitly, and eventually, even ran into Kosha, as she needed rescuing from an evil sorceress. The one thing Forsythe had the others didn't, besides a penchant for taking things that didn't belong to him, was the ability to use the magic of the land itself to cast spells and change shapes, both human shapes and animal.
