Born near Hidden Naresh among the Black Riage Mountains, he and his brother never had a chance at a normal childhood. Their mother was power hungry. Though she had gained notoriety for the birth of two strong healthy boys among the tribe, she sought after so much more. While pregnant, she devoted her time to studying ancient rituals to call upon the gods of prior worlds. Once the youngest was six months old, it was time. She traveled to the caves surrounding Hidden Naresh, finding the one most likely to be near a vail, and began the ritual, giving the blood sacrifice of her oldest son first. As the ruins lit and the air stirred, she gained further confidence and attempted to sacrifice Kadath as well, however, the gods seemed to have other plans.
Kadath was found by a small man (a gnome) from the Order of Balance, Erwin. He buried the dead child and healed the wounds found on the other which had been caused by the aftermath. He then took him to Thriest to be raised at the temple, taking on the responsibility of training the young half-giant. The first years were not easy for the priest, but he managed with the help of the other masters in the order.
Kadath grew to honor and respect not only Erwin (who he saw as a father), but also the other masters. He listened intently in his classes and studied hard to understand the purposes of the Order of Balance, and what it represented. When finished with the training, he was appointed as an acolyte and took on the full oath of the Raven Queen. He began to be sent on missions, small at first, but quickly gaining the trust of the masters.
Through his studies, he discovered the first champion, Korrin, and his blade of justice. Imagining what it would be like to find the blade and bring it home to the order where it belonged, he began focusing his research. Feeling called to go out, he was sent to assist a recently formed group into the mountains, to Hidden Naresh, where he began to question his origin and his desire for the blade of justice.
